Back and Forth
Life offers roads strewn with rocks and soft sand
Like the illumination of darkness and then back again to darkness
An inscrutable dance in life’s busy throng
Like salty ocean waves beating against a sandy shore
And retreating again in predictable patterned difference
What is depression and anger?
What is joy and love?
Are they illusions that fly into our minds like flecked devil or angle dust
Or do they form when who we think we need to be is flattered or threatened
In any case they settle in before starting their march to our chemical juices
That Infects our movements from pole to pole
But the heart is tight to words and always open to a hug
